Itchin' to Create

Earrings with clear and emerald Swarovski crystals

While I'm recovering from this horrid head cold, I don't really want to work on anything that will require most of my brain.  Making a pair of earrings is just the ticket - just difficult enough to interest me, but if it gets too hard, I can put it away.  Like I need another pair of earrings?  Not.  So, I got my tools and supplies out and decided to use the rest of the Swarovski crystals I had laying around.  I'm so thankful to Akiko for teaching me how to make the middle "bead of beads" - makes these earrings much more interesting.

Of course, I made more than one pair of earrings, but with Valentine's Day coming, and a daughter with pierced ears, I can't show you the others.  Maybe she will blog about them later.

The Human Body

Not getting any pictures here, sorry.
I just wanted to comment on how wonderfully we are made. When we get sick, with a cold or the flu, we get better. If we get a bruise or a burn, we heal. Our bodies are made that way. Taking the meds can help, but the meds don't do the work by themselves. Our bodies cooperate.

Still feeling a little lousy, tho.

Something Like Gratitude

Well, it's hard to say I'm grateful for these products, but seeing as I am sick with a monster head cold, I guess I really am.

My New Friend

Sometimes I really like my art. This is one of those times. Of course, he needs to be put in a setting, and he needs an eyeball.

But I'm happy.

This is my inspiration. Some kind of finch at the Jurong Bird Park.

Nothing

Today was a day to lay on the couch all day long and rest. Thankfully, I didn't have any pressing, urgent matters to attend to and could do just that. I didn't actually just lay around all day, but mostly. My body needed it.

Return to Twenty-Something

Last night my husband and I saw the Police in concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. It was such a great time. They played only their best songs, didn't embellish them too much, and what a thrill it was to sing along. We had fairly cheap seats, but it didn't matter. They did 3 encores and were very engaging with the audience. Sting, in particular, looked happy. I can't imagine how boring it must be to sing Roxanne for the millionth time, but they played their hearts out.
And now I am very tired. And happy.

New Pillows

This is the couch I'm most likely to fall asleep on, but I usually rob the other couch of a pillow to do it. Not any more. And I dithered about what fabric to cover them in, silly me. Once I saw this birdy print, I knew it was the one. But I didn't do a very good job. That's what I get for starting a new project at 5 pm on a Sunday night. Oh well, they're good enough for me to sleep on them.
